Pad distribution

Pad distribution
is a cluster of several wellheads on relatively small areas of land (in pads). Pad distribution of gas production wells allows to significantly reduce metal consumption, the cost of gas gathering systems and the land use fee for wells construction, to avoid considerable damage to surface layers while constructing, especially in tundra and in permafrost regions of the Far North. The first gas well pad distribution in Russia was carried out in the Medvezhye field. There were 2 to 3 vertical wells with mouth distance up to 70 meters and bottom distance up to 70–150 meters. The modern well construction technology allows building highly productive well pads (20 to 30) owing to directional drilling, and having them on the same site with gas processing facilities.
